International Year of Microcredit 2005

I am delighted to announce that the following individuals and groups from Wagner have been selected to receive 2005 President's Service Awards at the university-wide awards ceremony on April 26, 2005. Hosted by New York University President John Sexton, the twenty-first annual President's Service Awards Ceremony will recognize student organizations and individual student leaders for their distinguished service and contributions to the University and the community. Organizations are nominated for a President's Service Award by members of the NYU faculty, student body, or administration. The selection committee, which considered the nominations, was composed of representatives from throughout the University.

Please join me in congratulating the following for their distinguished accomplishments and contributions.

Harold Pettigrew for Leadership. He is being recognized for his outstanding leadership of the Urban Planning Student Association and his extraordinary efforts to build community at NYU Wagner.

Rebecca Epstein for Leadership. For her outstanding leadership and enrichment of the Wagner community by providing opportunities for engagement with experts on critical policy issues.

Chris Kunitz and Jeremy Stone have won for volunteerism at the all-university level. Together Chris and Jeremy developed the Microfinance Initiative, which has successfully engaged NYU students and alumni as well as practitioners from the for-profit, nonprofit and public sectors in support of the Millennium Development Goals and the International Year of Microcredit 2005.
