Project Enterprise is a non-profit organization dedicated
to supporting and developing entrepreneurs in
under-resourced communities in New York City.
By providing access to micro loans, business
development services and networking opportunities,
these entrepreneurs are able to increase their
standard of living, create jobs for their communities,
and build financial assets. The program was started
in 1997 to assist entrepreneurs who for a variety
of reasons cannot access traditional bank credit.
Project Enterprise currently has programs in
Harlem, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens.
"Project Enterprise is thrilled to be part
of this year long celebration of the power and promise
of microcredit. We have found microcredit to be as
important in the United States as it is abroad and
will continue to promote collaborations between nonprofit
organizations like ours and local banking institutions.
2005 International Year of Microcredit will be an
incredible year for increased awareness throughout
the world!"
